Texas is one of the 50 present day states of the United States of America. It was a territory featured in Call of Juarez and a U.S. state featured in a setting for a chapter in Call of Juarez: The Cartel.
Texas is a Southern state, originally being part of the Confederacy states due to the boundaries being below the Missouri Compromise line. It is located east of New Mexico, west of Louisiana, southwest of Arkansas, and south of Oklahoma. It is also north of the Mexican states of Chihuahua, Coahuila, and Tamaulipas.
Texas does not physically appear in the game, but it is mentioned as one of the states that the McCall brothers, Ray and Thomas, were wanted in, along with a good portion of the South Central states.
After Call of Juarez: Bound in Blood
After the events of Ciudad Juárez, the remaining McCall brothers, Ray and Thomas, along with Thomas' new fiance Marisa moved to a town in South Texas known as Hope, where Thomas and Marisa settled on a farm outside of town, and Ray becoming a reverend and preacher in the town's church, though both struggled with their own lives, with Ray having a sour relationship with some of the locals, and Thomas not finding fulfillment in his farming and married life while also having to deal with Marisa's son, Billy Candle, who was born there several months after they moved there. Eventually, Billy ran away to find the Gold of Juarez and does not return for a couple of years.
Call of Juarez
The first few chapters of the game is set in Hope. Most of the game is set in the wilderness of Texas, except for the Ferguson Ranch and Ciudad Juarez chapters.
After Call of Juarez
After Ray's death in Mexico, Billy and Molly moved back to Texas, where they started a family. Carrying the McCall's family name, his family goes down a few generations, likely living in or around the Hope area of Texas.
Ben McCall, one of the three protagonists of the game as well as Billy "Candle" McCall's great grandson, was born in Hope, the same town his great grandfather was born in. In 2011, Ben returns to his home state, along with Kim Evans and Eddie Guerra. The two head to Eagle Pass, a border city near Piedras Negras, Coahuila, Mexico. They stop at an old Grayhorse bus stop to find Patrick Stone's tape, left for Ben and Kevin Donleavy.
