Model 29

The Smith & Wesson Model 29, referred to as the Model 29, is a weapon featured in Call of Juarez: The Cartel.

Smith & Wesson Model 29

Mechanics[]

Smith & Wesson's production of an N-frame revolver chambered for .44 Magnum began in 1955. The Model 29 designation appeared two years later in 1957. When the Model 29 was produced it was the most powerful handgun in the world (barring 19th century Howdah pistols). The Model 29 can fire both the .44 Magnum and .44 Special rounds, however, the .44 Magnum case is longer, to carry more propellent. This prevents .44 Magnum rounds from being chambered or fired from revolvers chambered in only .44 Special.

Call of Juarez: The Cartel[]

The Model 29 is the second revolver encountered in the game and is used by various thugs. The Model 29 is also used as a Secret Agenda item for both Eddie Guerra and Ben McCall in Raytown. It is unlocked by completing the mission "Gang Bang".

Users[]

  • Rolling 50's gangsters
  • Araña gangsters
  • Mendoza Cartel members

Trivia[]

  • The Model 29 is a reference to the 1971 cop-film, "Dirty Harry", where the protagonist "Dirty" Harry Callahan carries a Smith & Wessom Model 29 as his preferred sidearm.
  • The Secret Agenda Model 29 is erroneously used as a placeholder for an "antique, old-west" revolver in the secret agenda in the mission Ghost Town.
