Heckler & Koch HK416

The Heckler & Koch HK416, referred to as the K416, is a weapon featured in Call of Juarez: The Cartel.

Real World Info[]

The HK416 uses the gas system of the G36 rifle. The HK416 also uses a short stroke piston to prevent combustion gases from entering the firearm's interior. The HK416 also uses a proprietary rail system to enable it to uses attachments used on the M16 or M4 assault rifles. While many believe the HK416 to be the replacement for the M4 Carbine, the M4 is actually going to remain in service. However, the HK416 is already used by several groups in the United States military and defense groups.

Call of Juarez: The Cartel[]

The K416 is first used by LAPD and SWAT during the Interagency Task Force's raid on the Port of Los Angeles. Some Araña sex traffickers also wielded this weapon. The K416 is the main assault rifle of PKI mercenaries, and many members of the Mendoza Cartel wield it alongside the FX-5. Ben McCall wields this weapon at the very beginning of the game during the convoy chase (However, in the actual mission he can wield any weapon). It is unlocked by achieving level 9 in the Secret Agenda. It is also unlocked at level 8 in Multiplayer.

Trivia[]

  • Ben McCall erroneously refers to this weapon as an "M4". Some early screenshots showed a M4A1 Carbine as a useable weapon. This could mean that it got scrapped late in production and replaced with the K416.
