Goats appear as a miscellaneous animal that can be seen wandering various areas. A goat can be seen in San Lorenzo. At the Douglas and Smith Company, a goat can be found in the barn. Jim Peters also kept a handful of goats in a pen on his ranch. Freeman, too had goats on his ranch. Most famously, a goat is seen wandering the northern section of the Alcázar.

  • In Chapter XIV, a glitch has garnered internet fame. The glitch was featured in a video in which the player pushes a goat against a ladder, causing the goat to float up the ladder. This in turn, caused the player to erupt in hysterical laughter for nearly half the video (which has been referred to as Laddergoat).
  • In response to the above video, an achievement/trophy is available in Call of Juarez: The Cartel. It requires the player to find the Laddergoat: The Movie dvd in the Fort Level.
